Savage 6/14/1930 - 10/19/2005 Funeral service will be Monday October 24th, 11:00 a.m., at Mish Funeral Home for Donald Savage, 75, who passed away October 19th at his home with his loving wife by his side. Pastor Billy Woods will officiate. Born in Pecos, Texas to William and Ethel, Don was the youngest of nine children. At 12 years old, Don moved to California and attended Coalinga High School, graduating with the class of 1948 where he excelled in athletics. He worked as a hod carrier in the construction industry, and a musician. Don and his beautiful wife, Inez, recently celebrated 45 years of marriage. Bill Woods introduced Don and Inez at the Blackboard. He told Inez that Don was his cousin (Bill didnt know Inez had also come from Coalinga and knew Don). Don became a father to Inezs 3 children, and all had their smooth and rough times. Don is survived by his wife, Inez; sons, Rocky ODonnell and wife, Karen, Curtis DeRossett and wife, Sharon of Oildale, Willie Savage and granddaughter, Morgan Savage of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Terry Horwitz and husband, Martin of San Francisco; sister, Mary Clay; sister-in-law, Ruth Savage; nieces, Kealy Phillips, Linda Ost and husband, David, Cathy Jett and husband, Jim, Kim Cooper and husband, Bill, all from Bakersfield; nephews, Ronnie Savage and wife, Pat, Greg Rhoades and wife, Katie, Gary Savage and wife, Sherry from Washington. Also niece, Evelyn Rhoades who drove Don and Inez to their Las Vegas wedding. Special thanks to all Country music friends who celebrated for Don at Trouts on Sunday, October 16, 2005.
