All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ca/cafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: K T bluewolf@onemain.com October 25, 2005, 11:40 pm The Bakersfield Californian Scott Sr., William "Bill" 1949 - 2005 William (Bill) Scott Sr. 2/11/1949 - 10/21/2005 Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 26, at 6:00 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 27, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 124 Columbus St., for William James Scott, Sr. Father Dan Coyle and Kern County Veterans Association will officiate. Mr. Scott was born on February 11, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri and resided in Kern County for 46 years. He was a graduate of East Bakersfield High School, Bakersfield College and Cal State Bakersfield. Mr. Scott was a paratrooper with the Army Special Forces, 1970-1979, worked as a police officer with the Bakersfield Police Dept., and social worker with the County of Kern until his death. He was a Boy Scout leader, Troops 326 and 977, and coached NOR baseball. He was a 3rd and 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus St. Francis Council #977. In his many years as a member he served as past Grand Knight, past Faithful Navigator, past Chapter President and District Deputy. Mr. Scott was a devoted husband, father, uncle and Texas Hold-Em player. He was always giving , never expecting anything in return. He is survived by his wife Cynthia Ann Scott; sons William James Scott, Jr., of Bakersfield; U. S. Army Staff Sgt. David Edward Scott and wife Mary Ashley of Fort Hood, TX; stepdaughter, Jenni Ann Holm of Bakersfield; grand-daughters Kaylynn and Brielle; numerous nieces and nephews, parents Willie and Ma Belle Joerger and the entire Joerger family, foster siblings Jean Childers, Vada Moore, Larry Hill and Art Ingle of Bakersfield and special friends John, Katie and Aaron Coates. Casketbearers will be John Coates, Danny Barron, Nick Bannister, Chase Agerton, Dewayne Winslow and Augustine Acuna. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jamison A. Miriam Children's Center, 1010 Shalimar Crt., Bakersfield, CA 93306.
