Mrs. McKay lived in Taft for many years and was a longtime member of the California Native Daughters. She was also a volunteer for the West Kern Oil Museum. Mrs. McKay was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard McKay; her father, Lewis Earl Shaver; her mother, Marjorie Shaver; her brother, George Shaver and by her sister, Maxine Estrada. Her survivors include her daughter, Michael Ann McKay of Taft; her son and his wife, Jamie and Carlee McKay of Tehachapi; her grandsons, Jason and Charlie McKay of Bakersfield; her brother, Glen Shaver of Redding; her brother-in-law, Dale Estrada of Taft and by her special friends, Ray York and Geraldine Rynden both of Taft. There are no services or visitation scheduled and the arrangements are under the direction of the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home 765-4111.
