"Ann" 1923 - 2005 Enedina S. Torrez (Ann) May 14, 1923 - November 18, 2005 Visitation begins Wednesday, November 23, 11:00 a.m., at Delano Mortuary Chapel. Rosary and Mass will be recited Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, in Delano. Enedina Ann Torrez was born May 14, 1923, in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico to Heriberto and Soledad Silva. Ann immigrated to the United States in 1926 as a toddler. She attended schools in Los Angeles, McFarland, and Fremont School in Delano, California. As a young woman Ann worked as a field worker and at Mid-State Packing Shed where she would unknowingly meet her future husband, Cipriano Cipe A. Torrez. After WWII, Enedina and Cipe crossed paths again, and on November 2, 1947 they were married at St. Marys Church in Delano, CA. Together they had four beautiful children. After raising her children, Ann worked as a Teachers Aide for Delano Union Elementary School District for 22 years. Among that, she was a dedicated wife and loving mother. She enjoyed weekly breakfast at Perkos, frequent trips to Las Vegas with her husband and children and getting her hair done every Saturday morning. Ann and Cipe were faithful parishioners at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Delano. Ann is preceded in death by her mother, father, sister, Jovita Reyes and her loving husband, Cipriano of 55 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Magdalena Armendariz and Alicia Armendariz; daughter, Irene Castillo and her husband, Raul; son, Richard Torrez and his wife, Susie; son, Anthony Torrez and his wife, Rosie; daughter, Lydia Villalobos and her husband, Bonifacio Jr.; 11 grandchildren; 9 great- grandchidlren with one on the way; and many other relatives and friends.
