Paul Smith 

July 1, 1936 – Sept. 9, 2005

Paul Smith, 69, passed away quietly on Sept. 9, 2005 at his home in Tehachapi, 
surrounded by his family.

Mr. Smith was born in New York on July 1, 1936 to parents Joseph and Anna 
Smith and lived most of his life on Long Island.

He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957. Mr. Smith came to 
California in 1974, purchasing a catering truck and remained in the catering 
business for 16 years.

He moved to Tehachapi two years ago to be close to his family. Although he was 
rarely seen without a crossword puzzle or golf club in his hand, his greatest 
enjoyment was his grandchildren.

Mr. Smith is survived by his son, Paul Smith Jr. and his wife Tina of 
Tehachapi; grand children, Christin Smith, Brian Morgan, William Smith, Kyle 
Smith and Amanda Beck; former wife, Marie Smith, of Tehachapi; brothers, 
Theodore Smith, Joseph Smith and William Smith; and sister, Catherine 
Buttacoli.

Wood Family Funeral Service handled the cremation arrangements.
