Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday, November 11th at 7:00 p.m. in 
Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., and Mass of Christian Burial will 
be Saturday, November 12th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic 
Church, 7100 Stockdale Hwy., for Linda S. McKindley, 64, of Bakersfield, who 
passed away November 3, 2005 in a Bakersfield hospital. Msgr. Ronald Sweat 
will officiate. Linda was born in Long Beach, California to Lincoln and Rose 
Smith. She was a graduate of California State University, Long Beach, where 
she was active in Delta Delta Delta sorority and an advisor for many years 
after. She taught school for 32 years; 22 years as a First Grade Teacher and 
the balance at Junior High. In 1977 she came to Galt, California for a family 
reunion and there got reacquainted with Dennis McKindley. They were married in 
1978. She began her new life and family in the Galt area until the family 
moved to Bakersfield in 1994. She retired 12 years ago. She came out of 
retirement to work for Bakersfield Well and Pump until January of this year 
when she retired again so that she could enjoy time with her family. She is 
survived by her husband, Dennis; three sons, Tom Dyer, Kirk and Matt 
McKindley, all of Bakersfield; step-daughter, Kay McKindley of Orange; sister, 
Barbara Hess of San Diego; brother, Richard Smith of Spokane, Washington and 
eleven grandchildren all of Bakersfield. Pallbearers will be Kirk and Matthew 
McKindley, Tom Dyer, Robert Johnson, Kevin Hess, Gary Nickel, Zac and Zane 
Dyer. Honorary pallbearers will be John, Curt, Bill and Bob Zimmerer, D C 
Ogan, Joe Lopez, Oscar Macias, Ted Caldwell, Louis Sheppard, Ricky Maltos, 
Alan Faki, Arnold Hess and Eddie Schoefield. Visitation will begin Friday, 
November 11th at 12:00 noon at Greenlawn Mortuary. Interment will be private.
