All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ca/cafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: K T bluewolf@onemain.com January 6, 2006, 1:10 am The Bakersfield Californian Starr, Doris Marie 1912 - 2006 Doris Marie Starr Doris Marie Starr, daughter of the late Cornelius and Leona (Brown) Stanford, was born August 11, 1912 in Chico, Texas and departed this life on November 11, 2005, in the St. Johns Regional Health Center in Springfield, MO, following a 5 months illness, at 84 years of age. Doris grew up and attended school in Oklahoma and graduated from Altus High School and later attended college for two years. She was united in marriage of Jerrel Ray Starr on December 1, 1941 in Martha, OK. Two daughters were born to this union. They moved to California and made their home on the Bakersfield area from 1942 to 1998 and them moved to Mountain Grove, MO, to be with their daughters. Doris was employed for many years as a school secretary for the Panama School District in California and retired on 1985. She enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, traveling watching wildlife and living in the Ozarks. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She especially loves spending time with her family and will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her. While living on the Mountain Grove area, she was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Mountain Grove. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerrel R. Starr on October 22, 2000; and by one brother, Bob Stanford. She is survived by her two daughters, Carola Brumley and her husband, Lindell, and Sharon Reed and her husband, Junior, all of Mountain Grove; one sister, Betty Starr and her husband, James of Bakersfield, CA; three grandchildren, Sean Snowder of Bakersfield, CA, Errin Snowder of Aberdeen, WA, and Jesse Johnson of Mountain Grove.
