Ethel Lorene Story 
Sept. 28, 1919 - Feb. 14, 2006 
Services: Mon., Feb. 20, 1:00 p.m. 

Lorene was born in Checotah, OK and she went home to be with the Lord, at the 
age of 86. Lorene was one of eight children, and shared 52 years of marriage 
with her husband, Archie Dean Story until his passing in 1991. Lorene was a 
longtime member at New Hope and later at First Missionary Baptist Church of 
Bakersfield. She was preceded in death by her husband and four brothers. 
Survivors and spouses: one son, James Story and his wife, Gay and one 
daughter, Carolyn Elliott; grandchildren and spouses: James Story Jr. and 
Kelly, Shelley Elias and Martin, Michelle Thomas and Steve, Brian Elliott and 
Karin, Susan Whitaker and A.J., and Robert Ursua. She was also blessed with 11 
great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, Amy, Anthony, Ashley, 
Brittney, Carliegh, Alyssa, Katelyn, Robert II, Jeneffer, Kristen, Jacquelyn, 
Nathan, Jennelle, and Cristy Lee; three sisters, Ada, Ruth, Bertha and spouse, 
Joe; sister-in-law, Beulah and many nieces and nephews. Lorene was a devoted 
and loving wife, mother and grandmother. We love and miss you, but we look 
forward to our Heavenly reunion. The Story family would like to offer special 
thanks to Charles, Susan, Lamonte, and Delores Dee Dee of the Emmanuel 
Convalescent Parkview for their kindness and care. Services will be held at 
Hillcrest Memorial Park, Monday, February 20th, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor 
Larry Woolley officiating.
