Darren was a sweet, kind, loving, wonderful man who adored and cherished his wife and three children dearly. He was Tammys true love, her soul mate, her best friend. He was the greatest Dad in the world to Nick, Katie and Emma. He was completely devoted to his wife and children. He spent countless hours playing with his kids and spent many quality moments with his wife. The kids and Darren had many great wrestling matches and had lots of fun together. His idea of a romantic date with Tammy was a trip to Home Depot to pick up building supplies for one of their many projects, then on to Costco for a polish dog, soda and frozen yogurt. Darren enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved any and all sports and everything to him was a competition from a good or bad round of golf with his 3 brothers-in-law to their extreme games of croquet at every holiday gathering. He also enjoyed playing games from poker nights with the guys, late night card games with his mom and a challenging game of Scrabble with Tammy. Darren enjoyed being a teacher, as well as all the time off that came with his occupation so he could spend more time with his family. Darren has expressed many fond memories of growing up in his loving family, sharing a room with his brother, Bill and all the late night talks. He cherished the fond memories camping with his brothers, Ted and Bill, and tormenting his sister, Beth, who he loved dearly. Darren learned to be a hard working man from the example of his strong father, Don, and learned compassion and tenderness from his loving mother, Josie. Darren loved to serve others, and his spirit touched everyone. All who know him will feel a great loss. He will be missed immensely. We love you Darren. Donations can be made to the Salka Childrens Education Fund. Funds will be accepted at the US Bank in Redmond, Oregon.
