All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/obits/obitsca/obitsca.htm ********************************************************** File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: K T bluewolf@onemain.com March 31, 2005, 12:11 am The Bakersfield Californian Manuel Garcia Sanchez Jan. 27, 1920 - Mar. 26, 2005 Visitation for Manuel Garcia Sanchez will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street) on Friday, April 1, 2005 from 4-6 p.m. and the Rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday evening, April 1, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe on Saturday morning, April 2, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. Manuel was raised in Yuma, Arizona on January 27, 1920 and was raised in Valle De Santiago G.T.O. Mexico. He returned to the U.S. around 1941. Manuel is preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Eustacia G. Sanchez and six brothers. He is survived by his wife, Inez M. Sanchez; daughter, Mercedes Sanchez; son and daughter-in-law, Jose M. and Armida Sanchez; son and daughter- in-law, Alfredo M. and Zoila Sanchez; grandchildren, Ismael, Miguel Angel and Melissa Sanchez. Manuel worked for Santa Fe Railroad, Southern Pacific Fruit Express Co. and San Joaquin Cotton Compress. He was a member of the Socidad Juarez M.M. Comite De Beneficiencia Sucursal #6 and Union Patriotica Logia #20. He was a strong believer of fighting for the employees rights at work, in which he served as Shop Steward for the PFE and Compress. He was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a person that loved tending to his vegetable garden. He enjoyed his gatherings with friends on weekends (dance nights) where everyone got together and danced, joked and just have a terrific time.
