Jost June 3, 1919 - March 24, 2005 A Graveside service will be held Thursday, March 31, 2005, 9:30 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., a Celebration of Clellas life will be held at Laurelglen Bible Church, 2801 Ashe Rd. After fighting the good fight with respiratory failure, Clella went to be with her Lord on March 24, 2005. Clella was born on June 3, 1919 in Canada, Kansas to Wesley and Pauline Schwendiman. She lived in Marion, Kansas with her family on the farm and graduated from Marion High School. In her teens she received the Lord as her Savior during a Tent Revival that came through town. She met and fell in love with Chester Jost. He moved to California for employment and with ring in hand she soon followed. They were married October 5, 1941 in Bakersfield. Their children are David Jost, Duane Jost, and Diane David. She was an active member in the Bakersfield Mennonite Brethren Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. In 1977 Clella and Chester played a key role in founding Laurelglen Bible Church. She was an accomplished cook, quilter and loved to crochet. Her family was a priority to her and she loved to spoil them. She loved the Lord, trusted in His promises and prayed diligently. Everyday she looked to the Lord to be the strength of her life. She thoroughly enjoyed her family and friends and kept her sense of humor even up to her last day. We will all remember the humor and happiness she had. She left a huge void in our lives and she will be greatly missed. Clella was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Chester Jost. She is survived by her children, David and wife, Carol, Duane and wife, Cher, and Diane David; grandchildren, Andrea, Chris, Brian, Holly, Troy, Ryan, Jason and Melanie; great-grandson, Justin; sisters, Irene Weibert, Darlene Tinberg; and brother, Kenneth Schwendiman, all of Kansas. The Family would like to thank Denise Allen, Agape Home Health, A Caring Touch, Dr. Farr, Dr. Hansa & staff for the loving care given. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to International Christian Ministries or Children To Love through Laurelglen Bible Church. Proverbs 3:5-6 and Joshua 1:9 Visitation will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Wednesday, March 30th , 2:00 4:00 p.m. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
