Helen Stone-Harris
March 21, 1934 - April 16, 2005

Chapel services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, 3700 River Blvd., 
Bakersfield, CA at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2005 for Helen Stone-
Harris, 71, of Bakersfield who passed away at home, surrounded by her family 
after a prolonged illness. 

Born Helen June Seay to Lawrence and Ora Seay on March 21, 1934, in Eufaula, 
OK, she moved to Taft, CA with her parents and five older siblings in 1935 
where she attended Taft schools. During her adult life she lived in many areas 
of Southern California before returning to Bakersfield in 1971. Retired after 
twenty-eight years of service with Delaney & Ahlf Diesel Service Inc., she 
spent time traveling, visiting with her beloved family and tending to her many 
rose bushes. An accomplished seamstress she spent many hours making creations 
for her family and nothing delighted her more than her house being filled with 
family members for one of her special meals.

Survived by her beloved husband, Jim Harris; brothers, Eual and Louis Seay of 
Bakersfield, CA; sister, Jessie Bertholf of Turlock, CA; sons, Charles Colvin 
of Purcell, OK; Maurice and Noel Stone of Bakersfield, CA; Dwayne D. and James 
D. Harris Jr. of Ojai, CA; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kern River Family Mortuary, 1900 N. 
Chester Ave., Bakersfield, CA (661) 392-9010.
