He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Sewell; son, Larry Sewell (Kim) of Loomis; daughter Carie Hinkey (Erik) of Loomis; son Garry Sewell (Laurie) of Granite Bay; son Joel Sewell (Aneata) of Sacramento; son Glen Sewell (Melanie) of Tracy; son Dan Sewell (Stephanie) of Cool and brother Steve Sewell (Nancy) of Bakersfield. He was preceded in death by his parents Larry and Peggy Sewell of Bakersfield, his sister Delores who passed in 1951, his son Greg Sewell who passed in 1991 and his daughter Jana Sewell who passed in 1967. Glenn has 21 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Glenn joined the California Highway Patrol and graduated from the Academy on May 3, 1964. He spent most of his career with the CHP in leadership positions in Northern California. Glenn was appointed by the Governor to be the first Chief and charged with creating a new Law Enforcement agency within the California Department of Insurance, the Fraud Bureau. Glenn retired from the California Highway Patrol as an Assistant Chief in Valley Division (Sacramento) in 1995. He was an avid abalone diver and considered a legend by the dozens of friends and family he introduced to the sport. Glenn enjoyed many things, but he was happiest at home surrounded by his large family. The viewing will be held at Lambert's Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd., Roseville, Thursday, July 21, 2005 from 5:00PM-7:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 22, 2005 at 1:00 PM, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3354 Margaret Dr. Loomis, CA and immediately following a US Air Force and CHP memorial service at the Newcastle Cemetery, 850 Taylor Rd.
