Sandra Kaye Estrada
April 16, 1953 - May 14, 2005

Sandy, our loving Mom, Grandma, Sister, Daughter, Aunt, and Friend, passed 
away peacefully on May 14, 2005 with all of her daughters by her side, after a 
two year struggle with lung disease. 

We will begin a celebration of our mothers life Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at 
Christ the King Catholic Church (1800 Bedford Way). There will be a viewing 
from 5 - 9 p.m., and the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mass of the 
Christian Burial will be held Wednesday morning, May 18, 2005, at 11 a.m., 
also at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest 
Memorial Park (9101 Kern Canyon Rd.). Officiating will be Monsignor Stephen 
Frost.

Sandy was born to Hugh Sheehan and Loretta Sheehan Wilson. She was employed by 
Fairfax School District for 18 years before retiring in September of 2003. She 
loved her job and everyone she worked with. She had special friendships with 
everyone she worked with, and thought of all of you daily. 

Sandy is preceded in death by her father, Hugh Sheehan and she is survived by 
her five girls, who are going to miss her very much. Katia and husband, Kalani 
Formica, Ali Herrera, Kelley Herrera, Michelle and husband, Chris Ruiz, and 
her baby, no matter how old she got, Jessica Leanne and husband, Chris 
Gutierrez. 

Sandy had a big family with lots of love and grandchildren. They all loved 
her, and will miss seeing her in her chair, or in her room waiting for them to 
come say hi and give hugs and kisses. Grandchildren, Amanda, Brandon, Andrew, 
and BreeAnna Formica, Ashley Jacquez, Leonard Wilkerson, Gracie and EmaLee 
Herrera, Abigail, Lily, Destiney, and Nena Ruiz, AnnMeree and Baby Chris 
Gutierrez. Manda made her a great grandmother three times! Kamaile Rose, 
Leilani Marie, and Kekoa Carter. All of you were the highlight of Grandmas 
everyday life! 

Sandy loved her brothers and sister. Marvin and wife, Gloria Sheehan, John and 
Chris Sheehan, and Kathy and husband, Manuel Aragon. She looked forward to you 
guys coming to visit her; it always made her day. Aunt Kathy, we could never 
thank you enough for what you did for her. Were so thankful for you. We could 
have never made it through this without you. 

Her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart and they all have 
their own memories of Aunt Sandy, as did her Godchildren. Niece, Teresa 
Sheehan; great-niece, Kathleen Barron; great-nephew, Jacob Barron; nephew, 
Steven and wife, Samantha Gomez; great-nieces, Alexis and Faith Gomez; nephew, 
Jack Sheehan; niece, Anna Sheehan; nephew, Nick Sheehan; nephew, Mike Sheehan; 
great-nephews, Dillion and Ethan Sheehan; nephew, Matt and wife, BreeAnn 
Sheehan; goddaughter, Nicole Herrera Castro and godson, Matt Sheehan.

We are all going to miss you, mom, but we know youre with Papa and no longer 
suffering. We couldnt be selfish; we had to let you go, but we will never 
forget you, EVER!

Special thanks to Bakersfield Memorial Hospital ICU, and the nurses who helped 
care for Sandy. Thank you for being so patient with us and our Family and 
Friends. Nurse Kathy Johnson, thank you for your prayers. Youll never know 
what they meant to us at that time. Thank you Nurse Debby on the First Floor 
(room 166). You made the last night and moments with Mom as peaceful and 
heartfelt as they could have been. 

Pallbearers will be Kalani Formica, Chris Gutierrez, Chris Ruiz, Brandon 
Formica, Andrew Formica, and Steven Gomez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike 
and Matt Sheehan. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Basham Funeral Care, 873-8200.
