Lela R. Thompson 
Sept. 12, 1911 - July 25, 2005 

Lela R. Thompson was born on September 12, 1911 in Rector, Arkansas to Charles 
and Gracie Mae Shockley and went to be with our Lord on July 25, 2005 in 
Bakersfield. Lela was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to cook, 
garden and took up oil painting in her 70s. Lela is preceded in death by her 
first husband, Marshall Ross, her second husband, Chet Thompson and her 
daughter, Marilyn Lisenbee. She is survived by her son, Gene Ross of Seattle, 
WA; sisters, Flossie and Dolly of Arkansas; 6 grandchildren and numerous great-
grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Chapel services will be held at 10:00 a.m., 
on Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Hillcrest Mortuary. Visitation will be Friday 4 
to 8 p.m.
