Marilyn P. Short 
Sept. 4, 1919 - June 27, 2005 

Marilyn P. Short was born on September 4, 1919, Denver, Colorado to William W. 
and Helen Power and went to be with the Lord on June 27, 2005 in Bakersfield. 
She attended schools and junior college in Glendale, CA. Marilyn was a kind 
hearted and gentle lady who loved her family and enjoyed spending time with 
them. She was very active with the Central Church of Christ. She was a clerk 
for the Kern County Library for over 15 years, a job she thoroughly enjoyed 
since she loved being around people. Marilyn is preceded in death by her 
husband of 47 years, Otis Short and daughter Karen Bartlett. She is survived 
by her sons, Robert Short and wife Jessica and Richard Short and wife Mary; 
grandchildren Mindee Crawford, Kevin Bartlett, Ryan Villarreal, Mark Ortiz, 
Deanna Ortiz, Gilbert Ortiz and Jessica Short; 13 great grandchildren and 
numerous other relatives and friends. Chapel services will be held on 
Saturday, July 2, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Mortuary. Visitation will 
be Friday 4 to 8 p.m.
