Pastor Martin Basaldua will officiate. Julia was born on December 21, 1927, in Mexico and resided in Kern County for 76 years. She had worked as a nurses aide for eight years and attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Church over the years. Mrs. Soto was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse in 1977, a brother and a sister. She is survived by her daughters, Irma A. Melendez and companion, Lupe Velarde of Lamont, Peggy Soto, Elisa Soto Aguilar and Norma Derby all of Bakersfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Jesse and Jackie Soto of Oregon and Raul and Maggie Soto of Washington; 25 grandchildren; numerous great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Sofie, Esther, Lala, Catherine and Amelia; two brothers, John and Joe and her caretaker, Betty Guerrero. The family would like to thank Optimal Hospice for their care and support given our mother during her illness.
