He moved here in 1924 and attended local schools, served in the United States Navy during World War II and later retired from the Tosco Corporation, Bakersfield Refinery. Lance was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Kern County Amateur Radio Club (WB6JEH), Caledonia Masonic Lodge, Bakersfield Scottish Rite Bodies, Tehran Temple of the Shrine in Fresno, and the Kern County Shrine Club. Survivors include his wife of 55 years Betty, three children: Jimmy Starline of St. Marys, GA, Kathi Davies and Marji Morrison of Bakersfield, five- grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Lance is also survived by his brother Frank Starline of Yuma, AZ, and sisters Carol Bradford of Bakersfield and Marjorie Starline-Galpin of Yuma, AZ. At Lances request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3100 Geneva Street, Los Angeles, California 90007.
