Born August 9, 1920, in Brookfield, Missouri to parents, John and Adelia Stevenson, Foxxie was the youngest of seven children. She married Nello Foxx on December 8, 1945 and was married for 58 years. Nello passed away on January 8, 2004. Foxxie is survived by her son, Michael Foxx; daughter-in-law, Connie Foxx; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Randy Pickens; grandsons, Bryan Pickens and fiancée, Kathleen Duarte, and Jeffrey Pickens; her sister, Adelia Clarkson of Brookfield, Missouri; brother, Robert Stevenson of Los Angeles, CA; her sisters-in-law, Jewel and Loraine Stevenson and numerous other nieces and nephews. Foxxie was in the entertainment business all of her life with a longtime record of musical comedy hits at the Bakersfield Community Theater, Civic Light Opera, Starlight of Kern, and Stars, to name a few. During her life, she was honored Queen of Jobs Daughters, President of the Frank West PTA where she received an Honorary Life Award, involved in Boy Scouts, was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, Brownies and was President of Keynotes. She was awarded the first Ted Fritz Award from the Bakersfield Californian, President during the 50th Ann. year of the Bakersfield Community Theater, she was an Auctioneer, in Fashion Shows, a member of the Guild House for many years, and was awarded two Albert Awards for Little Night Music and Cabaret. She also spent the last 14 years running Bakersfield Memorial Hospital Gift Shop. Foxxie asked that you Sing no sad songs for me and remember her with a song in your heart. Services will be private.
