He is loved and survived by his wife of 55 years, Wanda Lee Stewart; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Wendall and Jonda Stewart; granddaughter, Shannon Lynn Blunt and her husband, Darin; grandson, Robert John Stewart and his wife, Danielle; great-grand-daughter, Kendall Jayne Blunt all of Bakersfield. Robert was born May 18, 1924 in Kansas City, Kansas to Mabel and Claude Stewart. He was the youngest of two children. Dad was a kind, gentle and honorable man with a wonderful sense of humor who looked forward to spending Sunday dinners with his family. He served his Country as a Marine in the Second Division during WWII, in the battles of Tarawa and Saipan. Living his life as a Marine to the very end Semper Fi. After the war, Bob worked in the oilfields in places like Angola and Malta, retiring from Texaco after 30 years. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the wonderful and caring staff and nurses of Hoffmann Hospice.
