Jr. July 15, 1923 - April 10, 2005 Al was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He patriotically served as a Captain in the Army during World War II. After serving his country he graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a degree in Geological Engineering. He married Lorraine Martini of Bakersfield, the mother of his three children, in 1957. After working several years as a geologist in Utah, Arizona, and the Philippines, he settled in Bakersfield in 1964 to start his new career as a cocktail lounge entrepreneur. During his many years of multiple successful business ventures, he enjoyed camping, hiking, and fishing in the local mountain areas. His children are extremely grateful for Lora Duboise's care and friendship in his last years. His sister, Loraine Stiern; daughter, Mara Matl and husband, David, their sons, Joseph, Gregory, and Zachary; son, Greg and wife, Lene; their children, Kathrine, Mark, and Maria; son, Al and wife, Sonya, and son, Benjamin will continue to love and remember him always.
