Oliver W. Suell, Sr. (Bubba) 
Services: Thurs., Aug. 25, 11 a.m. 

Viewing and visitation will start Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. 
with an hour of meditation to be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of 
Ruckers Mortuary for Deacon Oliver W. Suell, Sr., 74, who passed away in 
Bakersfield, California on August 17, 2005. A celebration of his life will be 
held Thursday, August 25, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., at Antioch Missionary Baptist 
Church, 3319 Meeks Avenue. Pastor Joe L. Washington is officiating with 
interment to follow at Union Cemetery. Oliver W. Suell, Sr. was born to Ida 
and William Suell on May 20, 1931, in Grady, Arkansas. He was the seventh of 
ten children. In December of 1949, he married Roberta Durrough, his wife of 
nearly forty-seven years. Six children were born to this union. Oliver is 
preceded in death by his wife, Roberta, in 1996, and his son, Oliver Jr., in 
2001. Those left to cherish his memory are his five daughters, four 
grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers, three sisters, and a 
host of other relatives, his Antioch Church family and friends. Our beloved 
father, Papa, is now in Heaven with our mother, Mema, and their son, Junior. 
They will be forever in our hearts. The Suell family would like to thank the 
nurses in the Mercy Hospital ICU for their attentive care to Oliver during his 
hospital stay, their compassion toward us and for doing everything they could 
to help during our time of need.
