John Lynn Sullivan 
Oct. 6, 1949 - Aug. 6, 2005 

Memorial services will be held at Mission Family Mortuary, on Friday, August 
12, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. John was born on October 6, 1949, in Bakersfield, CA, 
to George and Helen Sullivan. John attended elementary and high school in 
Bakersfield before graduating from Mt. Diablo High School in Concord, CA, in 
1968. In December 1968, John enlisted in the Air Force, in which he served for 
three years. He worked for the City of Bakersfield in the Parks Department for 
27 years before retiring earlier this year. John was great at telling stories 
of his years growing up and all the friends involved in his life. He had a 
great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He was an avid fan of the LA 
Dodgers and the Oakland Raiders. He loved his family and friends. But his one 
true love was to go fishing with his fishing buddy and longtime friend, Mike 
Tank Vass. He looked forward to the annual fishing trip to Huntington Lake. He 
leaves his loving family: sister, Carol Browne and husband, Bruce; nephew, 
Jason Wikoff and wife, Autumn; niece, Jennifer Buys and husband, Scott; and 
great-nieces, Ashlen Wikoff and Emma and Abby Buys of Bakersfield; aunt, 
Lucille Torchy Cline of Concord, CA and several cousins. Special friends and 
neighbors, Jim and Martha Lawson our family appreciates your love and care 
given to John, Thank You.
