All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ca/cafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: K T bluewolf@onemain.com October 20, 2005, 11:06 pm The Bakersfield Californian Tapia, Refugio Zaragoza 1943 - 2005 Refugio Zaragoza Tapia July 4, 1943 - October 16, 2005 Visitation for Refugio Zaragoza Tapia will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street) on Thursday, October 20, 2005 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church from 6:00-8:30 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Friday morning, October 21, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Refugio was born July 4, 1943 in Colonia Luis Leon, Chihuahua, Mexico and he passed away October 16, 2005 in Bakersfield, California. Refugio is preceded in death by his father, Silvester Tapia. He is survived by his daughter, Alma Tapia; son and daughter- in-law, David and Jennifer Tapia; son and daughter-in-law, Jose Cruz and Stephanie Armendariz; daughter, Natalee Romero; mother, Aurora Tapia; sisters, Teresa Alvarez, Tomasa Monclova, Manuela Poe, Aurora Tapia, Maria Tapia and Angela Tapia; brothers, Silvester Tapia Jr., Lorenzo Tapia, Guadalupe Tapia, Aniceto Tapia and Roberto Tapia; grandchildren Johnny Ramirez, Fernando Ramirez, Alondra Medrano, Isaiah Tapia, Abigail Tapia, Lina Armendariz, Daniel Armendariz and Jason Armendariz; great grandson, Fernando Tapia Ramirez as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Refugio enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He was a Bakersfield Charro since 1968. He loved his children and grandchildren. He was also a father figure to other children other than his own. He had a wonderful comradery with his fellow workers at Motor City GMC. He was loved by all that knew him and he will be greatly missed. Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Tapia, David Tapia, Isaiah Tapia, Adrian Monclova Jr., Jose Cruz Armendariz and David Gonzalez.
