(Salvador) 1962 - 2006 Jose D. Tavera (Salvador) Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 5, 2006, at Our Lady of Guadalupe, at 9:00 a.m., for Salvador Tavera. Salvador was born April 13, 1962, in Capilla de Guadalupe Jaisco, Mexico. He passed away on January 2, 2006, in Bakersfield with his family by his side. Salvador is survived by his loving wife, Maria D. Felix; son, Diego A. Tavera and daughter, Monica A. Tavera and a special niece, Emily Tavera. Salvador assumed the responsibility of the parenting of Emily when her father, Roberto passed away. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, Braulio and Maria de Jesus, 7 brothers and sisters. Salvador was the founder and First President of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Antelope Valley. He was very involved and devoted to providing leadership skills to young soccer players. Salvador devoted many hours to assist young players in bettering their soccer talents. He was a positive role model to everyone he encountered. Salvador was able to attain the Real American Dream. He came to this country at fourteen and achieved his goals by studying, working hard and obtained his life dream of owning his own business. He worked in the restaurant business and was very successful. Salvador also had a nightclub that made him very happy. He always tried to make everyone he came into contact with very welcome. Salvador will be missed dearly by many people. His loving acts of kindness will always be remembered. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4th, from 5-8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Mish Funeral Home-Oildale. Legacy.com Published in the Bakersfield Californian on 1/4/2006.
