Rosie resided in Bakersfield all of her life. Rosie attended Our Lady of Guadalupe School and graduated from South High School in 1981. She continued her education at Bakersfield College and was very successful in the medical industry for most of her adult life. Her last place of employment was Millennium Surgery Center until 2003. After that she was a very happy wife and stay at home mother where she also bravely battled complications due to diabetes. In June of 2005 she underwent a double transplant and had many complications since. Rosie loved and enjoyed many outings and special times with her many family and friends. She enjoyed cooking new recipes from her favorite cooking shows she used to watch. She was really looking forward to cooking in her kitchen that is currently being remodeled. She enjoyed her trips to Hawaii, the beach, and many other places with family and friends. The one thing she loved most of all was caring for her two daughters, Alicia and Matea, and her granddaughter, "Rosita." Rosie was very passionate about her faith and her devotion to God which helped her through her challenging times with her sickness. She was very passionate about the gift of life and supported pro-life causes. She loved animals and taking care of her hummingbirds. Rosie was a very special gift to all of us who knew her. She truly cared more for others than herself. She was the best wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend that we could ever ask for. Rosie is survived by her husband, Paul Thomas; her daughter, Alicia and son-in-law, Billy Menta; her granddaughter, Rosiemarie Menta; and her precious miracle daughter, Matea Lourdes Thomas; her parents, Aurelio and Tillie Perez; her brother, Aurelio Jr., and his wife, Emily Perez; and her niece, Brittany Perez; and her mother-in-law, Bettye Thomas. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Nannette Lynch, Mary and her husband, Carl Voss; and brother- in-law, Lionel Thomas and his wife, Kathy; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and many, many close friends. Rosie is preceded in death by her unborn twins, Sean and Marie Thomas; her grandparents, Manuel and Maria de Jesus Perez and David and Guadalupe Soto; and her special aunt, Lourdes Chong. The family wishes to thank Dr. Baer and his staff, the employees of Bakersfield Dialysis, and Memorial Hospital and all those who prayed and supported us through the difficult times. We also want to give special thanks to Brenda Perez Roberts who knows how much she means to us. God saw you were getting tired, and a cure was not to Be, so He put His arms around you and whispered "Come with me." With tearful eyes we watched you suffer. And saw you fade away. Although we love you dearly. We could not make you stay. A golden heart stops beating, working hands are put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the Best.
