A veteran of World War II, Chester started flying airplanes during the time of Charles Lindbergs historical Trans Atlantic Flight. He and Kathryn moved to Bakersfield in 1947, then began and owned the B & T Window Covering Mfg Company on Casa Loma Dr. (Ming Ave) for 45 years. Chester was Captain in the Civil Air Patrol here in Bakersfield and flew Cessnas looking for missing aircraft. He was preceded in death by his sister, Fauvette. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; brother, Robert and his wife, Fern; daughter, Phyllis and her husband, Greg and grandchildren, Kevin, Jana and Mark. A private internment will be held Tuesday at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, followed by a 1:00 p.m. memorial service at The First Congregational Church, Bakersfield (Real Road at Stockdale Hwy).
