Bonita Jeanne Dalley, dearly beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, aunt and friend, was born April 6, 1920, to Bonnie and Gordon Traill. She was the older sister of Ruth and Bruce Traill. Mrs. Dalley always known as Jeanne, loved Bakersfield and lived here all of her eighty-five years. Jeanne often spoke of her happy childhood and loving parents with great fondness. After a short career with the phone company, she met and married Jim Dalley, a union of 63 years. Jeanne was a homemaker and very involved with community organizations while raising her three children, Robin and James B. Dalley and the late Alex Dalley Cobb. The family grew to include daughter-in- law, Anne Dalley; ten grandchildren, Richard, Brendan and the late Gabriel Turner, Erin Chaves, Caitlin Gurrola, Chris, Jason and Brian Dalley, Victor Wilson and Cody Cobb; great-grandchildren are Daniel Stroud, Richard Turner Jr. and Tiffani Bolton. She was aunt to Jeffrey and Scott Traill and Darlene Pankey. Retirement was a wonderful time for Jeanne and Jim as they enjoyed golfing, dancing, and traveling with their many acquaintances. Jeannes remarkable loyalty and devotion to her friends led to close relationships of up to 80 years with the Benedict sisters and others. She made friends wherever she went all her life. Jeanne will be most remembered for this devotion and concern for others, her zest for life, and her fun loving ways. We will miss her very much, but are grateful that she is at peace and reunited with those gone before, especially her beloved Jim. The family offers special thanks to Rosa Cordero and Fidelia Galarza for their loving care of our parents. Rosa was truly our mothers angel in her last year of life. In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to the Red Cross Katrina Fund (Jean had great concern for these victims).
