Yolanda was born in Bakersfield, CA on July 30, 1946, to Gino John Tambellini Sr. and Angelina Papaleo. Yolanda Tambellini lost her battle with cancer on July 30, 2005. She spent her youth in Bakersfield, CA and attended Bakersfield High School and graduated in 1965. She began her career in retail at Brocks Department Store in Bakersfield. Yolanda resided most of her adult life and career in the Bay Area of San Francisco, CA. She worked and lived in Santa Clara, San Carlos, and Redwood City, CA. She was the manager of cosmetics for many years at I. Magnins & Co. of Palo Alto, CA at the Stanford Shopping Center. She went on to work for Ralph Lauren and Macys Department Store, also located at Stanford Shopping Center. In 2001, Yolanda moved to Williamsburg, VA following her beloved brother, Gino Tambellini Jr. and his wife, Louise following their retirement. Yolanda worked for Colonial Williamsburg at their Williamsburg at Home store as Assistant Store Manager. Yolanda was a beautiful and endearing spirit who will be remembered for her great strength, kindness and love, which she shared with all who knew her. The World will be a little less bright without her. Yolanda leaves behind her sisters, Nancy Leggett of Fort Worth, Texas and Angie Carter of Westlake Village, CA; a niece, Christina Carter of Los Angeles, CA and a nephew, Jeff Carter of Philadelphia, PA; her only brother, Gino Tambellini Jr. and his wife, Louise of Williamsburg, VA. Yolanda leaves behind many loving friends and co-workers. On Thursday, August 4, 2005, 5:00 p.m., a memorial service will be held to celebrate Yolandas life at Nelsen Funeral Home of Williamsburg, VA with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice House of Williamsburg, VA. Online condolences may be registered at www.nelsenfh.com.
