Dr. Mike Popovich, minister and friend will officiate. Bea was born July 23, 1922, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Her family moved to Bakersfield when she was a child. After graduating from Bakersfield High School, she met Joe and married. They were married for 58 years until Joe preceded her in death in 2000. Bea was employed by the Bakersfield City School District in the Education Center and retired in 1982. She was an active member of Olive Drive Church (formerly First Baptist Church) for 67 years. She has loved and served her church and Lord in many capacities faithfully. Left to love and honor her are her daughter, Linda and husband, Jack Chambers of Mesa, AZ, David and Sharon Tanner of Bakersfield; six grandchildren, Jeff Chambers and wife, Julie, Jennie Chambers Boll and husband, Brian, Darcy Chambers Webster and husband, Ben, Dodd Chambers and wife, Gloria, Joe Tanner and John Tanner. She also had 10 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Olive Drive Church, 5500 Olive dr., Bakersfield, CA 93308, for the Building Fund.
