He was born on January 25, 1942 in Fullerton, CA to Georgianna and Teodorico Tayaba, Sr. As a child he was raised by both parents and his uncle, Dalmacio Tayaba. He attended schools in the Fullerton and Southern California areas. Ted began working at an early age in agriculture. He lived in Delano, Pixley and the Coachella areas for many years. Ted owned and operated his own trucking business: Tayaba Trucking and Native Pride Transport for over 30 years. And was also a past supervisor for Tudor Ranch in Mecca, California for many years. Ted was married for over 42 years to the love of his life, his devoted wife Lucille. Together they raised five daughters. He loved his family dearly and was a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a wonderful kind hard working man who enjoyed driving his truck up and down California. Ted made many friends wherever he went. There wasn't a town in California that he didnt know at least one person who lived there. He was friendly, intelligent, wise, and loved to tell jokes and a great story teller of his life on the road. He had many friends and family members in Northern, Central and Southern California whom he loved to drop in on. His family and his friends loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his father, Teodorico Tayaba, Sr. and his uncle, Dalmacio Tayaba. He is survived by his wife, Lucille; daughters, Sally Blagg of Tulare, Melanie Harper, Indio, Yolanda Tayaba, Delano, Amanda Tayaba, Indio and Leilani Tayaba, Shingle Springs. His grandchildren, Anneke Leahy, Tulare, Antonio Esquivel, Delano, Ronnie and Chad Harper, Adrianna Tayaba and David Ochoa, Jr., all of Indio, CA; great-granddaughters, Victoria and Madison Leahy, both of Tulare; his mother, Georgianna Gomez of Shingle Springs; brothers, Ambrose and Steve Tayaba both of Shingle Springs; sisters, Patricia Cuellar, Visalia, Lorraine Tabaya, Shingle Springs, Nonie Villanueva, Upland and Rosemary Tayaba and Georgianna Gomez, Shingle Springs. Viewing begins Monday, July 25, 2005, from 3-8 p.m., in the Parkview Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 26, at Family Life Worship Center, 501 W.
