Gene Taylor Sept. 26, 1937 - April 26, 2005 Born in Bakersfield to Fred and Lois Taylor, he attended Jefferson, Washington, EBHS and Bakersfield College. He served in the US Army for 3 years. Gene lived in Bakersfield, Mojave and Morro Bay, enjoying his 12 years at the coast very much, but returning to the Mojave Desert for the drier climate. He was a devoted grandpa and enjoyed fishing in Cayucos, shooting and just hanging out at home with his wife. Gene also loved restoring old cars, NASCAR; and until his illness never missed his morning coffee with his buddies. His humor, wit and daily pearls of wisdom will be missed by all who knew him. After a long illness, Gene passed away with a peace and trust in Jesus Christ in his heart. By his side were his devoted wife of 44 years; son, daughter, son-in-law, grandsons, and sister, all praying and telling him how much he is loved. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois; brothers; Jim, Stephen and Philip Denning. Also, his special aunt (Mom) Dora Easton. He is survived by his devoted wife, Diane; son and daughter-in-law Marc and Debbie Taylor of Maryland; daughter and son-in-law Robin and Joe Tona of Los Gatos; four loving grandchildren, Joseph and Michael Tona, Ariell and Joshua Taylor; sister, Nola Price, mother-in-law, Yolande Young; brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers of Cedars- Sinai Hospital. At Genes request, no services will be held. His remains will be scattered at a later date. Til we see you again, Grandpa. Additional Comments: Volunteer submission - No relation to deceased.
