Georgia was born in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Briarcliff Manor College in Briarcliff, New York, and attended Colorado A&M, now Colorado State University. For many years, she worked as a supervisor at Brocks Department Store in Bakersfield. From 1992 to 2003, Georgia worked at both Mercy and Mercy Southwest Hospitals. Georgia was very involved in volunteer work at her church, Bingo at Garces High School and most recently as an Auxillian at Mercy Southwest Hospital. She loved people and was always offering to help others. She was gifted in sewing, quilting and needlepoint. Her parents were Walter and Catherine Tenney who predeceased her as did her brother Walter Tenney, Jr. and her husband Thomas McCorkindale. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Yvonne and Kirk Chambers, Marcia and Mark Fernando, Suzette and Trent Miller; her son, Peter Michel and son and wife David and Liz Michel. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cullen, Jeryl and Arianna Chambers; Kindall and Grant Fernando; Ethan, Jake and Ashley Michel; and Conner and Carly Mattern. Georgia was a loving mother and Nana to her grandchildren who will miss her deeply. Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren.
