Kay was born August 13, 1938, in Ellsworth, Kansas. She attended school in Colorado and was awarded a nursing scholarship. Kay was employed for 33 years as a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield, California. While raising her children she diligently attended every band, orchestra and Glee Club performance. She was a Cub Scout Den mother, a tireless Halloween costume designer, as well as the neighborhood nurse. Kay loved camping, fishing and playing quarter slot machines. She will be remembered for her generosity and sense of humor. Kay is preceded in death by her father, Clarence B. Thomas. She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Thomas of Bakersfield, and her sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Richard Falloon of Lavern, CA. She leaves her children, Timothy Crowe of Bakersfield, David Crowe of Tehachapi, CA, Laura Wallace and her husband, Scott Wallace of Bakersfield and her daughter-in-law, Maria Crowe of Bakersfield. She also leaves her special grandchildren, Clarissa, James and Emily Crowe, and Garrett and Andrew Wallace. Kay also leaves her best friend Vontell Pryor as well as her beloved beagle Trevor. Kays family wishes to thank the Doctors, nurses and hospice personnel who cared for her. Special thanks go out to Maria Alvarado of Agape In Home Care as well as Kays dear friend, Belva Mayhew whose prayers and support touched our lives.
