Martha Toews Gonzales
November 2, 1912-May 1, 2005 

Services: Friday, May 6, 10 a.m.

Services will be held Friday, May 6, 2005 at Hillcrest Mortuary, 10:00 a.m. 
for Martha, who passed away May 1, 2005. Reverend Frank Wooden, grandson, of 
San Diego will officiate.

She was born in North Dakota and migrated to Shafter, CA at the age of 12 with 
her 6 brothers and sisters, mother and father, Abe and Lena Toews. She was 
educated at Kern Academy Adventist School in Shafter. She was active in her 
church and with the Dorcas Group.She was a member for many years with the 
Retirees United Food and Commercial Workers Union. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Frank Gonzales.She is 
survived by two sisters-in-law, Rose Gonzales and Evelyn Gonzales and numerous 
nieces and nephews. Martha is survived by her daughters, Nancy Wooden and 
husband Walt and Vienna Battistoni and husband Paul. She is survived by 6 
grandchildren, Frank Wooden and wife Desiree, Tracey Mehrer and husband Tom, 
Tonya Battistoni, Taryn Dewey and husband John, Brandi Sosa and husband 
Marcoand Gia Keelin and husband Ed.She is also survived by 12 great 
grandchildren, Christopher, Joshua and Jordan Wooden, Timothy and Chanel 
Mehrer, Tyler and Makenzie Dewey, Natasha, Alex and Max Sosa, Mariah Gentry 
and Keanna Keelin.

Mother was a very sweet and gentle lady who loved to garden and who loved her 
family dearly. We will allmiss you deeply.
