He served his country during World War II in the United States Army, Airborne Corps, earning his Jump wings. Gabe worked for many years as Manager of the Tool Rental Department for Bakersfield Sandstone Brick and retired after 40 years. He was a member of the Eagles and was an ardent supporter of Garces High School, and could always be counted on to attend the football games helping to cheer his team to their many victories. He leaves behind his loving wife of forty years, Connie Urizalqui; sister, Marcie Alston; grandsons, Lee Cornelison and Lowe Elias; granddaughter, Traci Pratt; daughter-in-law, Sharon Cornelison; nephews, Rev. Msgr. Richard Urizalqui, Vince, John, Mike and David Fanucchi; nieces, Mary Anne Coyle, Barbara Crear, Pam Bell and Patty Brown; and brother- in-law, David Fanucchi. His greatest joy was his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, August 29, 2005, at St. Francis Church, 900 H Street, Bakersfield. Interment will be at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Francis Church.
