Valencia Rosary: Fri., Dec. 30, 7:00 p.m. Services: Fri., Dec. 31, 9:00 a.m. Recitation of the Rosary will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., Friday, December 30th at 7:00 p.m. at Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 31st at St. Joseph's Church, 1515 Baker Street, for Feliza O. Valencia, 89, of Bakersfield, who passed away December 28th in a Bakersfield Hospital. Father Ralph Belloumini will officiate at the Rosary and Father Ricardo Magdaleno will officiate at the Mass with interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Feliza was born on November 20, 1916 in Juarez, Mexico to Nicholas and Julia Ocampo. Feliza optimized the American Dream. She came from Mexico and proudly became a United States Citizen. She along with her husband, whom she met in Bakersfield, became Cotton and Alfalfa farmers. While running their own farm, they opened a Mexican Restaurant, Valencia's. She was not afraid of a little hard work and she worked hard to provide for her family. Her family was her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vicente Valencia; her sisters, Josie, Camilia and Thomasa; and her brothers, Marcos and Benny. Survivors include her sisters, Antonia and Mary; brothers, Lalo and Leandro; daughters, Julia Valencia, Camilla Valencia, Lillie Heredia, Alice DeLaRosa and son-in-law, Raymond DeLaRosa; sons, Leo Valencia and Richard Valencia and daughter-in-law, Jan Valencia; granddaughters, Feliza Letourneau and her husband, Mike, Amanda Valencia; grandsons, Raymond DeLaRosa and his wife, Kim, Michael Heredia, Sean Heredia and his wife, Dicy, Derek Valencia and his wife, Tina, Ryan Valencia and his wife, Cindy; great- granddaughters, Alyson and Bailey DeLaRosa, McKenna, Shelby and Adisyn Valencia; great-grandsons, Michael, Eric and Andrew Letourneau, Drew Valencia, Nicholas and Noah Heredia, all of Bakersfield. Casketbearers will be Raymond DeLaRosa Jr., Michael Heredia Jr., Sean Heredia, Derek and Ryan Valencia and Michael Letourneau. Honorary casketbearers will be Eric and Andrew Letourneau. We will always remember how wonderful her kitchen smelled and how good her food taste. She loved to crochet and garden. She helped raise a few of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and this we will always treasure. She loved her mother and father and brothers and sisters. We will miss all the stories she used to tell us about when she was young. Thank you to the endless visitors who came to the hospital, we are truly blessed and grateful. She knew you came. "We will miss you always, but know you are with family. Love you grandma and Mom." Visitation begins today (Friday) at 12:00 noon at Greenlawn Mortuary.
