Tomasa Garza Verde 
Dec. 21, 1921 - Oct. 10, 2005 

Our beloved mother has passed and joined our father Francisco in Heaven. 
Tommie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She 
was a loving generous friend and neighbor. People knew Tommie as a caring, 
nurturing woman who loved her Novelas. She was born in Mexico but was very 
proud to be an American citizen. It was difficult for us to say good bye, but 
we know that she is in a better place. Tomasa was preceded in death by her 
parents. She is survived by her children, Marisel Verde-Hernandez, Yolanda 
Avalos, Fernando Verde, Hilda Amaya, Francisco Verde Jr., Olga Verde, 
Guadalupe Verde-Rivas, Ruben Verde and Javier Verde; grandchildren, Glynda 
Balandran, Micheal Verde, Jess Rivas Jr., Billy Rivas, Isabelle Ratliff, Lisa 
Rodriguez, Linda Neri, Rosalinda Verde, Gabriel Verde, Melissa Medina, 
Christopher Medina, Aldo Amaya, Jocelyn Amaya, Misty Verde, Fernando Verde 
Jr., Cristal Verde, Angela Avalos, Julie Flores, Robert Avalos and Carlos 
Avalos; 17 great-grandchildren and numerous other friends and family. 
Visitation will be held at Hopson-Anspach Family Mortuary on October 12, 2005, 
from 4-9 p.m. with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of 
Christian Burial will be held at St. Josephs Catholic Church Thursday, October 
13, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. Father Robert Wenzinger will officiate. Interment will 
follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
