Maria V. Alva

Services: Fri., Nov. 18, 10:00 a.m. 

Maria was born January 11, 1914, in Sinaloa, Mexico, one of seven siblings to 
Jauna and Sostenes Villalobos. She was preceded in death by her loving 
husband, Trinidad Alva; three sons, Felix, Rudy and Manuel; granddaughter, 
Sylvia. She is survived by her only daughter, Lucy; son-in-law, Jose 
Benavides; three daughters-in-law, Olvia, Cecilia and Alice Alva; two 
brothers, Tony and Fidencio Villalobos and two sisters, Helen and Jaunita; 14 
grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was 
a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend that we will not forget. 
She will always be admired for her strength, spirituality and faith in God. 
She praised God, blessed her family and amazed us with her sense of humor 
during her final days with us. She is a great testament to us. Visitation will 
be held Thursday, November 17th, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Mission 
Family Mortuary. A Celebration of her life will take place on Friday, November 
18th, at 10:00 a.m., at El Buen Pastor, 5640 E. Brundage Ln., Bakersfield, CA 
Graveside services will follow in Delano, at 1:00 p.m. Maria Alva, 91, our 
beloved will not be forgotten. For more information call 323-3339.
