Holy Rosary will be recited by Father John Fluetsci, at Saint Johns Catholic Church, on Wednesday, at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, September 29th, at Saint Johns, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Wasco Cemetery. Cecelia Bernal Villarreal, 79, of Wasco, passed away on September 23, 2005. Cecelia was born on November 22, 1925, in Wasco, to Eduardo and Maria Coria Bernal. She attended St. Johns Catholic School and Wasco Union High School. In 1943 she married Jose R. Villarreal and together they raised their three children. Cecelia was employed in the medical field for over 50 years before her retirement in 1988. She began her career at the former Wasco Maternity Home and retired from North Kern Hospital in Wasco. She enjoyed spending time with her family during holidays. The familys 4th of July and Christmas gatherings were held in her home. On Christmas she recruited her grandchildren, nieces and nephews to dress up in Nativity attire to perform the annual Nativity pageant. She will be missed by all who looked up to her as the matriarch of the family. Cecelia is survived by her daughter, Priscilla and husband, Matt Carrasco of Bakersfield; son, Ruben Villarreal and wife, Ann of Olympis, WA; and daughter, Ernestine Villarreal of Wasco; grandchildren, Cynthia Virray, Christina Tennison, Matthew Carrasco, Joe Villarreal and Michael Villarreal; 12 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Modesto and Maria Bernal, Tony and Connie Bernal; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nellie and Joe Serda, Connie and Hector Montemayor; sisters-in-law, Elena Bernal, Cecelia Munoz and husband, Raul brothers-in-law, Pete Olvera; Felix Villarreal and wife, Socorro; aunts, Dolores Rodriguez and Trina Ventura. Cecelia was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jose; beloved granddaughter, Julee Marie; sister, Rosie Olvera and brothers, Pascal Bernal and Edward C. Bernal.
