Morgan was born May 18, 1981 and had recently moved with her husband, Mark, to San Antonio, Texas. Morgan graduated with honors from Fort Walton Beach High School in 1999. She went on to graduate cum laude with a B.S. in Music Therapy from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Morgan was selected to intern at the Maryland School for the Blind in Baltimore, Maryland. While working for the Okaloosa County Schools in the Blended School, Morgan touched souls with her gift of music and was passionate about her work with children, especially in the field of Music Therapy with developmentally disabled children. Morgan is survived by her loving husband, SSgt Mark Welch; father, Craig Perkins and wife, Tracy; mother, Pamela Morgan and Chuck Touchton; step-sister, Jamie Walker; step-brother, Robbie Walker; grandparents, Lt. Col. Larry Perkins (Ret) and wife, Yvonne; grandmother, Laverne Prevratil; uncles and aunts, Roy and Cindy Frazier, Mike and Debbie Riley, and Scott and Theresa Perkins; and cousins, Ryan Gore and wife, Kelly, Lisa Carr and husband, Adam, Heath Riley, and Katie Rose Perkins. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, February 2, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Mary Esther with Pastor Joe Plott officiating. Interment will follow at Heritage Gardens Cemetery in Niceville, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to the Morgan Welch Music Therapy Scholarship Fund, c/o Heritage Bible Church, 2323 Mt. Vernon Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93306. We would like to offer our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the United States Air Force for their compassion and understanding during a very trying time.
