Bernice Edwadean Welschmeyer 
Services: Fri., Oct. 7, 11:00 a.m. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, at 11:00 a.m., in the Great Room, at 
Mission Family Mortuary, for Bernice Edwadean Welschmeyer 80, who died 
suddenly on October 1st in a Bakersfield hospital. Rev. Phil Nabors of Valley 
Baptist will officiate. She was a charter member of that church and burial 
will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. She was a native of Texas and had lived in 
Bakersfield for over 65 years. She was a waitress and worked in several 
restaurants, one special one Banducchis and was involved in banquets and 
related waitress work for over 36 years. She was an active loving Mother. She 
is predeceased by her late husband of over 46 years Willard Peter Welschmeyer 
who died July 12, 1987 and a son, Charles Wayne Phillips. She is survived by 
her devoted children, Teresa Perry and Husband Bruce of Tehachapi, Cecilia 
Tope and husband, Steve, Cynthia Cox and Bill Welschmeyer, all of Bakersfield; 
sister, Doylean Shanks and husband, Grover of Brownwood, Texas; 14 
grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. 
Visitation will be at Mission Family Mortuary Wednesday and Thursday from 9 
a.m. till 5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. till service time. For other
