Sandy went to Heaven on January 5, 2006. She is missed greatly. A believer in our Lord Jesus, she loved and she shared her life with many. Her many friends and students were very dear to her heart. If she touched your life, please join the family at 11:00 a.m., on January 9th for a Memorial service at Riverlakes Community Church. Pastor Milt Cole will officiate. Memorial and graveside services will be held in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday, January 11, 2006. Born on February 7, 1950, she grew up in Houston, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Houston. She married Mickey on September 7, 1973. They then moved to the Philippines, Houston, Louisiana, Houston and then to Bakersfield where they have resided since 1988. With each move she was quick to get involved with the church and to be a volunteer there and elsewhere. While she was ill, she dearly missed being able to do more. It is an understatement to say Sandy was a loving wife and mother. She was always there putting family ahead of herself. Being a loving wife and raising her boys in the Lord was her top priority and a job well done. She is survived by husband, Mickey and children, John, his wife, Erin and Chris. She also is survived by her sisters, Katherine and Debra. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Roberta Langford. During her illness, she was blessed by a continual outpouring of prayer, caring, visitation, food, gifts, cards and notes. They were so appreciated by Sandy and the family. There would not be enough time to extend thanks to or make mention of all those whose unyielding support these past years will never be forgotten. We do wish to say a special thanks to Dr. Cartmell and Dr. Alam for their caring, compassionate counsel, as well as that of the staffs at CBCC and Memorial Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Riverlakes Church Mission Fund or the American Cancer Society. Legacy.com Published in the Bakersfield Californian on 1/7/2006.
