Juanita Nita Sue Rodriguez, 87, passed away September 24, 2005. Nita was born in McClain, Texas on June 30, 1918. Nita was one of six children born to Zachary and Nancy Copeland Wilson. Her family moved to Wilson, Oklahoma where Nita attended grammar school and high school. When Nita was 18 years old she and her older brother James Buddy Wilson went to California and shortly thereafter her family followed and settled in McFarland. Nita then met and married Eugene Hanes who passed away in 1963. In 1964, she married her husband, Paul Rodriguez.Nita was one of Jehovahs Witnesses.Her deep spirituality and close relationship with her God, Jehovah, always came first in her life, which she happily shared with others for 51 years. Nita was an exceptional lady who will be remembered for her beauty, charming personality and graciousness. She appreciated life and had very deep feelings for those who were close to her. Whenever Nita was around, there was a feeling of happiness felt by all. She enjoyed traveling to different parts of the world and sharing her experiences with others. She was an avid reader and always had a book by her bedside. James Michener was her favorite author. Nita was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Hanes; her brother, James Wilson and her sisters, Jesse Mae Lingo and Kitty Vee Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Paul; son, Jon Hanes of Carpinteria; niece and daughter, Patricia Cagle of Phoenix; four grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and, sisters Sybil Parsley of Nevada and Melba Doody of Bakersfield; she is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and other family members. Nita was dearly loved by her family, friends and spiritual brothers. A day will not pass that she will not be missed by all, but especially by her husband, Paul.
