He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith P. Hitchcock and Boyd J. Walker, and stepfather, Robert A. Fox. He graduated from BHS in 1955 and B.C. in 1957, retired from Kern Oil & Refinery in June of 2000. Served a mission with his wife, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Tempe, Arizona at the Institute of Religion. He loved to play basketball in his church league. He was known as Hank The Tank. He competed with players half his age. Being Everything to Everyone he met its assured Heavenly Father must have said, A Job Well Done My Son. Hank, as he was known, was an unsung hero, not only to his family but to all the friends he met throughout his lifes journey. The Christ-like example of kindness, love and service always showed brightly through for all to see. It was always, What would you have me do Lord? and not What will I get in return? He served faithfully as a high priest in many church callings. Hank did receive many blessings here on earth: Carol, his beautiful, loving wife and companion of 45 years; 6 increditle daughters, Pamela Smoot (Rick), Lori Lott, Cherisse Burden (Clint), Alana Calkins (Steve), Heidi Walker, and Heather Morley (Bret); 18 grandchildren, 1 great- grandson; brothers, Harold and Howard Walker and wives; sisters, Jeanette Wright and husband, and Effie Smith. He also had numerous nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends. Hank was so courageous in his battle with pancreatic cancer, never wanting anyone to imagine his pain; never closing the door to anyones visit. Thanks to the many friends who shared their love and respect for him. Although his chances were slim, he had no self-pity, Why me?, but instead, Why not me? Hank loved his family and faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ and its promises that he too would have an eternal family forever. It is assured he will look forward to having that promise fulfilled When We Will All Be Together Again. Visitation begins Tuesday, April 26th, 5-9 p.m. at Greenlawn Southwest.
