George R. Wammock 
July 21, 1937 - July 23, 2005 

George Robert Wammock, 68, of Turlock died Saturday, at Emanuel Medical Center 
in Turlock. Mr. Wammock was a native of Bakersfield and a resident of Turlock. 
He was employed by the Salvation Army at the time of his death. In his many 
years with the Salvation Army he spent time in many centers, including 
Bakersfield, San Bernardino, San Francisco, Tacoma, Alaska and finally 
Turlock. Mr. Wammock served his country for over 14 years in the U.S. Army and 
was a Vietnam Veteran. George was an avid fisherman and always had a good joke 
to tell to keep you laughing. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert 
Smith and mother, Anita Wammock. Survivors include by his son, Raymond Wammock 
of Tehachapi, CA and daughter, Elizabeth Nelson of Bakersfield, CA; five 
grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also survived by numerous brothers, 
sisters, nieces and nephews. Burial will be private.
