He worked as a roofer, and then worked for Valley Auto and Truck Incorporated as a salesman for 25 years with Kenneth Thayer who Johnny considered a very good friend. Johnny was a big, big fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Johnny also played football all through high school and was a fan of David Carr from Bakersfield who plays for the Houston Texans. Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Loretta Ward; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Amber Ward; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Larry Copeland; grandchildren, Johnny, Joshua, Joseph, Samantha Haylee, Kamryn, Nicole, Kara, Cheay, Brandi, and Shane; sisters, Geraldine Aylor and Winnie Conway and her husband, Gene of Holliday; brothers and sisters-in-law, J.B. and Kathrine Ward of Bakersfield, CA and Wayne and Cindy Ward of Marshall, TX; and numerous other family members. Thank you to all of his classmates in Texas for keeping in contact and a special Thank You to his football buddies; Derek, Jimmy, Jason, Brian, David and Jared, and to everyones support, kindness and caring so much.
