Joseph Arthur West 
6/29/1936 - 8/9/2005 

Joseph Arthur West, died August 9, 2005, in Oakland from heart disease. Joe 
was born on June 29, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah. His family later moved to 
Wasco, CA where he attended middle school and Wasco High School graduating 
Magnum Cum Laude. Joe attended the University of Utah for two years and then 
served on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He 
attending U.C. Berkeley and obtained his CPA license. He also earned a law 
degree and served in the Army Reserves. He was preceded in death by his 
parents, Fred and Winifred West. He is survived by his wife, Linda; their 
children, Lance and wife, Sunni West, Joseph Jr. and wife, Tyrah West, Scott 
West, and Laura and husband, Mike Chipman. Joe is also survived by five 
grandchildren; his brothers, Wendell West and Fred West Jr.; his sisters, 
Marilyn Tarbox and Susanne Stagg and many nieces and nephews. Joe will be 
remembered for his hard work ethic, his good sense of humor and his devotion 
to his family and church. He was very dedicated to his law practice and his 
accounting practice. He Will Be Dearly Missed
