Bill White 
August 29, 1929 - July 2, 2005 

Peters Funeral Home will conduct funeral services on Friday, July 8th, at 
10:00 a.m., at the Griffith Avenue Baptist Church, in Wasco, for Billy Wayne 
White, age 75, of Bakersfield who passed away July 2, at home. Pastor Andy 
Prince will officiate the service and interment will follow at Wasco Memorial 
Park. Bill was born August 29, 1929 in Lonoke, Arkansas to Roy and Myrtie 
White. He married Christine Danner June 30, 1948, in Arkansas. They moved to 
Detroit, Michigan where Bill worked in the transmission factory for General 
Motors. Then in 1955 they moved to Wasco. Bill worked for Richland Chevrolet 
until 1963 when he opened his own businesses. He owned and operated Whites 
Garage, the Sunland Service Station and the Mobile Service Station. He then 
opened the Napa Auto Parts Store in 1970. In his younger years, he enjoyed 
bowling, but he loved fishing. The family loved the beach outings while dad 
went deep-sea fishing. He was a member of the Griffith Avenue Baptist Church 
where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Wasco Chamber of 
Commerce, serving as President and also served on the Wasco Planning 
Commission. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Christine White of 
Bakersfield; sons, Michael White of Wasco and John White and wife, Debbie of 
Bakersfield; daughters, Diane Wankum and husband, Greg of Wasco, Rita 
Christolear and husband, Don of Bakersfield, Alice Kehoe and husband, William 
of Stockton, Lydia Nicholson and husband, John of Bakersfield; 16 
grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Murphy White and wife, Lenore 
of Arroyo Grande, Laney White and wife, Roxy of Bakersfield; sisters, Vivian 
Pulley of Colorado, Joyce Parrish of Illinois, and Barbara Deifel and husband, 
Wayne of Bakersfield; sisters-in-law, Ruby Danner of Wasco and Learah White of 
Arkansas. A special thank you to Dr. William Farr and his Staff for their 
compassionate support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sure 
Foundation Baptist Church, 13421 Snow Road, Bakersfield, CA 93314.
