Lovingly known to some as Miss Faye. Faye was born November 17, 1911, in Hardeman County, TX, to the late William Franklin Williams and Nancy Clarenda Barnes Williams. She grew up in Medicine Mound, TX. A part of the graduating class of 1932 from Quanah High School where she loved playing ball on the basketball team. She married Louie Lenoy Mahaffey on January 7, 1933. She and Louie moved to Bakersfield, CA in June 1936 where she resided until her death. Enjoying being around people, Faye worked for a variety of companies; Sears & Roebuck, The Frock Shop, Smiths Market, Owens Toy Store and Bruces Discount before finding her calling at New City Cleaners. She worked over 25 years as the main seamstress and alterations specialist. After retirement she worked 10 years for Price Club Costco until she was 89 years young. She is preceded in death by her husband; infant daughter, Clara; brothers, John Arthur, Robert Emmitt & Marcus Lavern Tex Williams; and sister, Vera Alma Hampton. Survivors include daughter, Renée Williams; son, Joe Mahaffey, both of Bakersfield, CA; two grandchildren, Becky Williams and husband, Brad Ruthrauff of Flower Mound, TX, Mike Williams of Billings, Montana; and great- grandson, Greg; two sisters, Rena Coleman of Archer City, TX & Mary Cole of Indianapolis, ID. Visitation begins Friday, May 13, 4-8 p.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary. Services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2005, 1:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary.
